Choros is an e-commerce platform for premium interior and home goods, where every product can be customised — fabric, finish, dimensions, and material — before it lands in the cart. A default WooCommerce experience could not support that depth of configuration or the visual storytelling the brand needed. Kukarika delivered a custom WooCommerce + ACF build: a fully bespoke product configurator with image-driven fabric/texture selection, a redesigned cart, and a streamlined checkout — wrapped in a brand-led, photography-first storefront.

A premium home-goods brand whose products live or die by configurability — and a default WooCommerce cart/checkout that simply doesn't express that.

01

Configurable products

Customers need to pick fabric, texture, finish, and dimensions per product — with visual previews, not dropdowns.

02

Visual-first PDP

Product detail pages had to be photography-driven, with selections updating the hero image live.

03

Custom cart experience

Default WooCommerce cart was too generic — needed brand-led layout that surfaces customisation choices per line item.

04

Streamlined checkout

Reduce friction without losing required fields for tax compliance, shipping, and order tracking.

05

Editor flexibility

Catalogue managers must add new fabrics, textures, and variants without code changes.

06

Performance with imagery

Hundreds of high-resolution product + fabric swatch images optimised for fast load.

A custom WooCommerce + ACF build with a visual product configurator, a rebuilt cart and checkout, an editor-friendly catalogue, and performance tuning for an image-heavy commerce experience.

Custom WooCommerce + ACF Foundation

  • WordPress + WooCommerce as the commerce engine, with ACF flexible content driving editorial pages
  • Custom product types extending WooCommerce variations for fabric/texture/finish selection
  • Backend designed so the Choros team can add new fabrics, swatches, and customisation options without developer help

Visual Product Configurator

  • Per-product image gallery that updates LIVE as the customer selects fabric, texture, or finish
  • Swatch-based UI — customers tap a fabric image, the product preview updates instantly
  • Configuration state preserved in URL so customers can share / revisit specific variants
  • Price recalculation per selection (fabric grade, finish tier, dimension upgrades)

Custom Cart Experience

  • Bespoke cart UI replacing the default WooCommerce templates
  • Each line item surfaces the customisations the customer chose (fabric name, finish, swatch thumbnail)
  • Quantity / customisation editable inline without leaving the cart
  • Cross-sell + related products integrated tastefully into the brand layout

Streamlined Custom Checkout

  • Brand-led checkout layout — minimal, focused, photography-aware
  • Required fields for Greek tax / shipping compliance kept intact
  • Order summary preserves customisation context (fabric / finish thumbnails)
  • Payment gateway integration with secure card + alternative payment methods

Performance & Content Operations

  • Lazy loading + image CDN for hundreds of product + fabric photographs
  • Catalogue editor experience tuned for non-technical staff — add a product variant in minutes
  • Caching strategy that respects logged-in / cart-stateful pages
  • SEO structured data per product (Schema.org Product, Offer, AggregateRating)

A premium e-commerce experience where the customisation is the product — not a buried option deep inside a settings dropdown.

  • Configurable products with live visual feedback — customers see exactly what they're buying
  • Custom cart + checkout flow that matches the brand and reduces friction
  • Editor autonomy — catalogue team adds new fabrics, finishes, and variants without engineering
  • Photography-first storefront that performs despite the heavy image budget
  • Brand-led commerce experience end-to-end — from product discovery to order confirmation

// Outcome

The Choros e-shop is a custom WooCommerce build where the configuration experience is the headline feature — not an afterthought. By replacing the default cart and checkout with brand-led flows and adding a visual product builder driven by ACF flexible content, Kukarika delivered an e-commerce platform that matches the premium positioning of the brand and the depth of configuration its products demand.
