GAWPFR (Global Atmosphere Watch Precipitation Fluxes and Related Parameters) is a scientific data platform that collects and visualizes information from a network of meteorological stations.
The platform provides researchers and stakeholders with real-time, daily, and climatological data on precipitation fluxes, offering advanced tools for visualization, analysis, and data export.
With design by Blind Studio and development by Kukarika, the new platform was built as a React + Node.js application, combining interactive maps, advanced charts, and scalable data management into one reliable system.

A scientific platform serving researchers — heterogeneous data sources, real-time ingestion at scale, and an interface that has to make complex datasets approachable.

01

Complex datasets

Integration of multiple meteorological stations and heterogeneous data formats.

02

Real-time ingestion

Handle a very high volume of measurements from real-time databases.

03

Data processing

Efficiently aggregate, transform, and normalise raw data streams.

04

Visualisation demands

Interactive charts and graphs for real-time, daily, and climatological datasets.

05

Performance-first

Optimised queries, caching, and rendering — fast and stable under heavy loads.

06

Scientific usability

Data can be easily exported in researcher-friendly formats (CSV, JSON).

07

Scalability

Architecture that scales with more stations, parameters, and visualisation types.

A React + Node.js system with interactive maps, time-series + climatology charts, and a scientific-grade data export layer. Design by Blind Studio.

React Frontend

  • Interactive maps with station overlays and filtering
  • Dynamic charts and graphs for real-time, daily, and long-term climatology datasets
  • Intuitive filters for researchers to explore and compare data

Node.js Backend

  • APIs for retrieving and processing meteorological data streams
  • Efficient data aggregation and caching mechanisms for performance
  • Scalable server-side architecture to support future growth

Data Visualisation & Export

  • Integrated charting libraries for time-series and climatology plots
  • Export functionality (CSV, JSON) for offline analysis
  • Comparative graphs for selected stations or parameters

Design by Blind Studio

  • Data-first UX tailored to scientific users
  • Clean interface balancing visual clarity and functional depth
  • Fully responsive for desktops, tablets, and mobile devices

A reliable scientific instrument — real-time at the source, navigable for the researcher, exportable for the lab.

  • Scientific empowerment — researchers now access real-time and climatological insights through one platform
  • Operational efficiency — automated ingestion and processing reduces manual data handling
  • Performance & stability — optimised system handles large volumes of continuous measurements without degradation
  • User engagement — interactive charts and maps make complex datasets more accessible
  • Future growth — system prepared for additional stations, parameters, and advanced visualisation tools
